CNC Programmer/Operator Needed
1st or 2nd shift
Required: AFOG is an ITAR facility. Applicant MUST be a US citizen.
Required: High School diploma or GED. Completion of a two or four year program of
study in the engineering/manufacturing field.
Preferred: Mechanical Engineering degree.
Required: 3 years in a CNC manufacturing environment with considerable exposure to
process planning and multi-axis CNC programming or the educational equivalent.
Preferred: An additional 2 years experience with extensive experience using Epicor
and Mastercam software.
Required: A valid driver’s license is required for commuting.
SKILL, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:
Must be fully capable of reading and interpreting blueprints, mylar and any other forms of engineering drawings that may be supplied by the customer.
Must have a thorough understanding of manufacturing processes and techniques and be able to efficiently produce methods/travelers that will allow production personnel to effectively produce components.
Must be able to produce "practical" CNC programs through a thorough understanding of CNC machines and machining principles. The ability to operate CNC machines and provide direct assistance to operators is also required.
Must have the verbal technical skills necessary to communicate with design engineers in the event of blueprint discrepancy or the need for clarification.
Must have good people skills and the ability to interact effectively with other AFG associates.
Attention to detail, the ability to focus, critical thinking and extensive problem solving skills are very important and are part of the normal work routine.
Must be able to troubleshoot computer issues and perform computer hardware and software service as needed (install/replace memory, hard drives, video cards, etc.)
Must have an understanding of the ISO 9002 quality system.
Must have a thorough understanding of Fixture and Form tooling and any related CNC tooling that may be necessary to produce customer components.
Must be able to efficiently teach and convey ideas and information, as an aid to the Director, to new department personnel.
Must be proficient in computer drafting and computer aided manufacturing principles and be able to generate working CNC programs directly from CAM software.
Must have a thorough understanding of G-Code and be able to interpret a program to the extent of knowing exactly what will happen when a machine runs the code.
Must have excellent computer skills that will allow for efficient navigation in a Windows environment and must be able to self-learn new software as necessary.
Must be able to demonstrate the ability to type at an adjusted rate of 30 WPM.
