This Juried Fine Art Show is scheduled for October 4 thru November 6, 2009. $1100 Total Cash Prizes to be awarded as follows: BEST OF SHOW: $300 1st PLACE: $200 2nd PLACE: $150 3rd PLACE: $100 5 HONORABLE MENTION AWARDS AT $50 EACH Additional Awards will be announced JUROR: Curtis A. Chapman Mr. Chapman has retired from his over 40 year association with Reinhardt College in Waleska, Georgia, but still teaches there on a regular basis. Mr. Chapman established the Art Department at Reinhardt and helped to create their Associate and Baccalaureate Degree programs and also held the longest tenure of any teacher in any field at Reinhardt. CATEGORIES: Paintings: Watercolor, Tempera, Oil, Acrylic, Polymer, Pastel, Mixed Media (list all materials used) Drawings: Graphite, Colored Pencil, Pen & Ink and Photography. Paulding Fine Arts Association reserves the right to refuse any works not deemed suitable for the showing. All pieces are to be framed and ready for hanging with wires. Saw-tooth hangers will NOT be accepted. Gallery wrap canvas is acceptable. Size Limitation is 40 inches wide, including frame. | Truman & Gilda Sosebee lost their home at Morningside Drive, Hiram, where they had lived for the past 23 years when flood waters made it's way up to the roof line during the 9/21/2009 Paulding County flood. They have been married for 43 years and lost nearly a lifetime worth of memories. In addition to the home itself being deemed a Substantial Loss (repair costs exceed over 50% of the value of the home) they lost their 2 vehicles, clothing, all of the furnishings inside the home and their family dog they have had for 15 years is still missing. The benefit ride is to help them rebuild their lives and get back on track. Any assistance that can be provided is appreciated and considered a blessing. | ||
